This new development follows the release of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's (LTFRB) Board Resolution No. 007, Series of 2026, titled "Reopening of PUJ MUCEP Route: Bicutan, Taguig - Taytay, Rizal and vice versa" under Board Resolution 345 series of 2025. The resolution stipulates that 15 units of modern jeepneys, under the implementation of the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP), will operate on this route.

The deadline for interested modern jeepney operators to submit their qualification documents has been set for February 18, 2026, at 10:30 am.
"The deadline for submission of the qualification documents shall be on 18 February 2026 at 10:30 am, and the opening thereof will follow at 2:00 pm, subject to the same guidelines set forth under MC 2019-013 and MC 2025-038," the LTFRB resolution states.
Should they fail in the initial qualification process, operators will be given 15 working days from February 18, 2026, to present their Letter of Intent and qualification documents.
The submission of applications was initially set for January 8, 2026, but no applications were received for this route.
