The shopping mall Market! Market! is set to disappear by 2027 as Ayala Land, Incorporated's lease comes to an end.
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has announced a redevelopment of this shopping mall in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City, transforming it into a mixed residential and commercial property.
The 9.7-hectare property owned by BCDA is its largest asset in the BGC District. Since 2004, it has served as a mall for the middle income, operated by Ayala Corporation's property company.
BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua Bingcang stated that the transformation of Market! Market! is to align it with the social shopping centers, fine dining restaurants, and other similar establishments in BGC.
Bingcang also mentioned that the Ayala group may still participate in the redevelopment of the said area if they wish.
