Officially opened on July 23, 2026, the facility has been renamed the Taguig Aquatic Sports Complex (TASC), following its extensive renovation by the Taguig City government. The rehabilitation focused on facilities that had been neglected and not maintained for a long period.
TASC is set to become a new training ground for aspiring swimmers from Taguig.
In the near future, it will also be opened to the public who wish to swim for free.
The renovated facility features a kiddie pool with a water depth of up to 4 feet and an 8-lane Olympic-size swimming pool.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, along with city officials, led the opening through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing.
Mayor Cayetano assured support for the athletes of Taguig and the opening of the facility to the entire community.
"In the City of Taguig, we believe that mastery in sports is a form of intelligence, hence it is fully supported by the City Government of Taguig. Here in this swimming pool, in this Aquatic Sports Complex, we expect that athletes will emerge who will bring honor not only to the City of Taguig but also to various countries. As mentioned earlier, we will be able to use this facility for free."
The mayor also emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in the discipline of sports.
"We want to see the youth of Taguig value sports, because here they learn a lot. Discipline, adapting to other people, perseverance, and not giving up on challenges. That's one of the benefits of sports. It trains children that you will face difficulties, but hardship has results. You may fail, but if you challenge yourself, in the next match, you may not win the championship now, but you could get it next time."
Among the enhancements made by the Taguig City government to the aqua sports complex are facilities for visitors, security features, new signage at the front, repainted and repaired parking entrance gate, renovated restrooms, fixed tables and chairs, and the pool equipment station filled with life jackets, kickboards, pool noodles, and other flotation devices for free use by swimmers.
