"We have seized luxury cars, an electric car, and a McLaren that is worth about 15-30 million. So, we are questioning these, as they could not present any documents. Meanwhile, two other Chinese nationals found at Haiqiang's residence were brought to the police station for further verification.

On the evening of April 14, 2024, after Haiqiang's arrest, a Jerry Mari Cheng went to the police station and handed over to one of the suspect's companions, Zhuang Guangdong, two black paper bags with the symbol "9 Dynasty Group."

The bag contained P3 million, openly handed over by Zhuang to a police officer in exchange for the release of the Chinese nationals in police custody.

RSOG personnel immediately arrested Zhuang Guangdong, while Cheng, who brought the two paper bags containing money, escaped. Zhuang is now facing Corruption of Public Officials charges, and a search is now ongoing for Cheng.

Nartatez praised the actions of the RSOG personnel, emphasizing the importance of the integrity and professionalism of law enforcers.

"This incident serves as a powerful testament to the steadfast dedication of our officers in upholding the rule of law and serving the public with honor and integrity. These are the kind of policemen that we need, to show our people that we can be trusted and that the NCRPO policemen are respectable and professional," Nartatez concluded.
