The nationwide simultaneous Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation demonstration, also known as "ZapPinas '26 Be a CPR-Ready Barangay Now!", will be held today, July 17, 2026, under the auspices of the Philippine Heart Association.

The focal point of the activity will be at the Rizal Covered Court in Rizal Barangay, Taguig, where doctors, community officers, and other citizens are expected to collectively demonstrate their knowledge of CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators this morning.

This coincides with the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the passing of the CPR Law, or Republic Act 10871, a law mandating all public and private schools nationwide to teach hands-on CPR to K-10 students.

However, to this day, the Department of Education has yet to implement it.

"Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness should start in the country's smallest administrative division. Public places and spaces should be AED-equipped," stated the Philippine Heart Association.

At the program to be held at the Rizal Covered Court this morning, attendees will include Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Congressman Joseller "Yeng" Guiao, the main author of the CPR Bill in Congress, Dr. Bernadett Velasco, director of the Health Emergency Management Bureau of the Department of Health, and Allan Cruz, the Chief of Rizal Barangay.
