The government is set to distribute new cash aid to around 37.5 million Filipinos.
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. announced that due to the rising prices of petroleum products caused by the newly resurfaced tension in the Middle East, the government will once again distribute financial assistance.
The President stated that 1.5 million low-wage workers whose family records have been verified by the Social Security System (SSS) will receive ₱2,000 monthly from July to December.
Meanwhile, there will also be a one-time additional cash assistance of up to ₱2,000 to be given to 3.5 million beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the No Hunger Program.
Under the Uplift Assistance program to be implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), immediate assistance will be given to approximately 7.5 million households, or 37.5 million Filipinos nationwide.
Marcos also stated that the government will provide assistance to 2.5 million poor, and near-poor households identified in the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).
