Work has also been suspended in government offices in Metro Manila and the provinces of Northern Luzon due to severe weather conditions causing heavy flooding and landslides.

Although Typhoon Hanna is not expected to make landfall, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon will persist.

Two more weather disturbances outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Super Typhoon Saola (formerly Typhoon Goring) and Severe Tropical Storm Kirogi, are further intensifying the southwest monsoon.

Typhoon Hanna, meanwhile, will move west-northwest and will leave the Philippines by the morning or afternoon of September 2.

Due to the continuous pull of these typhoons on the southwest monsoon, rain will continue to pour over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon until September 3, Sunday.

The city government of Taguig City has assured readiness for the effects of the continuing rain. The Taguig Pumping Station in Barangay Wawa, the Hagonoy Pumping Station, and the Labasan Pumping Station in Barangay Ibayo Tipas are all operational. Their evacuation centers are also ready to be activated at any time.
