Drug pushers showed no mercy as they attempted to sell suspected shabu on Good Friday night on MLQ Street, Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

Little did they know, their customers were law enforcement officers, leading to the arrest of two men long under surveillance. Over ₱2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from them.

Arrested during the buy-bust operation were Sojod Peteros Kamendan Jr., also known as 'Sojod', a 20-year-old unemployed man, and Mando Saban Hadjisidik, a 22-year-old food delivery rider.

The two suspects were caught with 6 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 305 grams, estimated to be worth Php2,074,000.00; genuine thousand-peso bills and 69 fake thousand-peso bills.

The suspects were arrested by personnel from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU), and Sub-station 9 (SS9) of the Taguig City Police Station on March 29, 2024, at 9:20 in the evening.

The two will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

National Capital Region Police Director Major General Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. praised the dedication of the police force even as everyone is busy during the Holy Week.

"I commend our police officers in the field who continuously exert efforts and for their vigilance to perform their duty even during these days of the Lenten Season," Nartatez stated.
