Ang pagsasapormal ng kanilang pagtutulungan sa redevelopment ng makasaysayang Fort Bonifacio Tenement ay isinagawa sa New Taguig City Hall noong Miyerkules, Oktubre 8, 2025.
Nilagdaan nina Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano at NHA General Manager Joeben Tai ang kasunduan kung saan binigyan ng otorisasyon ang Pamahalaang Lungsod na i-redevelop ang Fort Bonifacio Tenement sa ilalim ng isang usufruct arrangement.
Nangangahulugan itong maaaring gamitin at i-develop ng Taguig ang propriedad habang ito ay nananatiling pag-aari ng NHA.
Ang Taguig City Government ang magpopondo at mag-iimplementa sa proyekto kabilang ang relokasyon bg mga residente, pag-una sa listahan ng mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo, at pagsasagawa ng information campaign.
Ang NHA at ang Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) ang magbibigay naman ng technical assistance, habang ang pag-aari nito ay mananatili sa NHA.
Ang Fort Bonifacio Tenement ay idineklara nang "condemned" noon pang 2010 dahil hindi na ito ligtas tirhan, ayon sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Sinabi ni Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano na ang komprehensibong redevelopment ng Fort Bonifacio Tenement ay upang mas mapabuti at maging mas ligtas ang tinitirhan ng mga mamamayan.
"Our vision is to transform the Tenement into a safe, sustainable, and community-oriented housing development, one that preserves the social ties built through decades of shared living while providing residents with a dignified and resilient environment," ang pahayag ni Cayetano.
"Today marks an important milestone for the City of Taguig, one that has been many years in the making, carrying not only a plan for redevelopment but a promise of dignity, safety, and stability for hundreds of families who call the Fort Bonifacio Tenement their home. Good governance is not measured only by buildings constructed, but by the lives we rebuild and the trust we restore," dagdag pa nito.
