Tiniyak ng kanilang specialized explosive experts na ligtas ang mga mamamayan sa unexploded ordnance (UXO) na natagpuan noong Hulyo 2, 2026 ng hapon.
Ang UXO ay military munitions tulad ng bomba, artillery shells, granada, at landmines na ibinagsak o ikinalat sa panahon ng giyera o military training subalit hindi sumabog.
Isang residente sa Barangay Hagonoy ang nakakita sa mortar cartridge bandang alas 5:45 ng hapon sa northbpund lane ng C6 Road.
Nagsusunog umano ng mga kahoy ang isang jeepney driver malapit sa garahe ng sasakyan nang aksidente nyang tamaan ang isang matigas na bagay na nakabaon sa lupa.
Agad na ipinagbigay-alam nya ito sa nagbabantay sa garahe at ini-report naman ito sa Taguig Police Sub-station 9 bandang alas 9:00 ng gabi.
Kinordonan ng mga pulis ang lugar at ang Special Explosive and Canine Unit (SECU) ang tumingin sa naturang metal na bagay.
Natukoy ng mga technicians na ito ay isang live 60MM mortar cartridge at isinagawa nila ang render-safe procedures (RSP) sa pamaamgitan ng pick-up and carry-away (PUCA) method.

Remnants of military ordnance like this mortar shell remain highly volatile and dangerous despite the passage of time. The Southern Police District commends the rapid response of our Taguig police personnel and explosive experts who isolated and neutralized the threat without incident. We remind the public to never touch, move, or handle any suspected explosive devices and to report them immediately to the police," ang pahayag ni Police Brig.
