The Philippine Army showcased their readiness and proficiency in responding to emergencies such as earthquakes during the 2024 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at their base in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on March 25, 2024.

Troops from the Army Reserve Command demonstrated how to perform a high angle rope rescue during the earthquake drill at the headquarters of the Philippine Army.

The Army Reserve Command also demonstrated how to provide medical rescue assistance in case of injuries during an earthquake.

Both soldiers of the Philippine Army and its civilian personnel practiced the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure at their respective workplaces following the sounding of the siren signaling the start of the drill.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is conducted every quarter of the year to further enhance the preparedness of government agencies and other organizations during emergencies like earthquakes.

Its aim is also to educate and remind the public of the procedures to follow in the event of an earthquake.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido assured the continuous support of the Army for all programs and initiatives of the national government, and their readiness to assist the public in any disaster.
