The Philippine Army paid tribute to the Hunters-ROTC Guerillas in a ceremony held at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on April 13, 2024.

A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the monument of the Hunters-ROTC.

"These cadets may have been young, but their bravery and patriotism have left an indelible mark on our history. The saga of the Hunters-ROTC Guerillas is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Filipino people in the face of adversity," stated Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Leodevic Guinid in his keynote speech, representing Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy Galido.

"As one of the most aggressive guerrilla groups, they not only gathered vital intelligence but also engaged in raids, showcasing their resolute commitment to freedom," he further added.

The Hunters-ROTC was formed by young cadets from the Philippine Military Academy who engaged in combat against Japanese imperial forces during World War II.

They recruited young soldiers in 1942 from various ROTC units across universities and colleges in Metro Manila.

They were able to reclaim Fort McKinley in February 1945 with the aid of the 47th ROTC Division of the Hunters-ROTC Guerrillas.
