The Land Transportation Office will resume issuing plastic driver's licenses this April, following the removal of the temporary restraining order by the Court of Appeals.

Those whose driver's licenses expired between April 1 and August 31, 2023, as well as those due to expire between April 1 and 30, 2024, can now renew their licenses and will be provided with a plastic card from April 15 through April 30, 2024.

Furthermore, those with licenses that expired between September 1 and December 31, 2023, and those set to expire between May 1 and 31, 2024, can renew their licenses between May 1 and May 31, 2024.

Meanwhile, those whose driver's licenses expired from January 1 to March 31, 2024, and are set to expire between June 1 and 30, 2024, can renew their licenses and receive their plastic cards from June 1 to June 30, 2024.

The court has lifted the injunction order of the Quezon City court against the delivery of over three million plastic cards by Banner Plastic Card, Incorporated, the winning bidder charged with supplying 5.2 million plastic cards to the LTO.

The injunction was filed by the losing bidder, Allcards Incorporated, at the Quezon City court. This was the cause of the delay in the issuance of plastic driver's licenses.
