DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy stated that people's locations could be exposed to criminals who might target them or their homes, especially when it is known that the person who posted is not at their residence.

Uy further added that individuals who frequently livestream their activities are putting themselves in danger.

DICT is currently collaborating with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), and ScamWatch to remind the public about common crimes and scams, particularly during Holy Week.

Uy encourages citizens to report to the scam hotline 1326 if there are attempts at fraud or deception online or via text messages.
