Enaje, who plays Christ in the reenactment of the crucifixion at Calvary, claimed that his body can no longer endure the physical pain and the heat.

"My hand is hot now. It's a sign that I may stop. In the past years, I didn't feel any heat from the wounds, maybe this pain in my feet and hands will disappear. The pain in my shoulder is still there. The most painful part was when I felt dizzy on the way," Enaje told members of the media who witnessed his crucifixion on April 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

This marks Enaje's 36th year of being crucified in San Pedro Cutud as part of the Holy Week tradition.

Enaje's successor in crucifixion, 46-year-old Arnold Maniago, is on his 22nd time of being nailed to the cross.

The crucifixions of Enaje and 10 others in Pampanga are part of a long-standing tradition in the province, carried out by devout followers who wish to atone for sins, make requests, or give thanks to God.
