Senator Jinggoy Estrada has surrendered to the PNP-CIDG (Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) following the Sandiganbayan's issuance of an arrest warrant in connection to a plunder case against him and four other officials from the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) linked with anomalous flood control projects.

This surrender comes after revelations that Estrada allegedly received kickbacks or manipulated the budget.
