The Department of Science and Technology's Weather Division (DOST-PAGASA) continues to monitor Super Typhoon Bavi, which would be locally named Inday once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 8:00 PM on July 5, 2026, the typhoon, classified as "violent" by the Japan Meteorological Agency, is located 2,465 kilometers east of Southern Luzon.
The storm packs winds of 205 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching up to 250 kilometers per hour.
It is moving westward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
According to international meteorologists, it is likely to enter the PAR on Tuesday night (July 7) or Wednesday morning (July 8) as a super typhoon.
The storm will enhance rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon.
