A minor phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the Taal Volcano Main Crater last night at 8:27, on July 12, 2026.

This eruption lasted for three minutes based on seismic, infrasound, and visual observations from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, or Phivolcs.
The eruption generated ash and smoke that reached up to 1,200 meters from the mouth of the volcano before heading toward the northeast.
The thermal images are from the West Rim (VTWR) and Daang Kastila (VTDK) Observation Stations on Taal Volcano Island.
Alert Level 1 remains raised over Taal Volcano.
