The Southern Police District (SPD) reports that after the two had drinks at Barangay Calzada Tipas, the female victim, accompanied by her child, announced she was heading home around 10:00 PM on June 20.
The suspect accompanied the woman and her child home, suddenly stabbing the victim in the left cheek, the blade reaching as far as the left side of her neck.
A witness immediately sought help from the Barangay Security Force of Calzada Tipas, pursuing the fleeing suspect.

Upon learning of the incident, personnel from Taguig City Police Substation 5 promptly responded, capturing the suspect around 1:00 AM on June 21. Authorities also recovered a knife believed to have been used in the crime.
The victim was immediately rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for medical attention.
The SPD commended the responding barangay and police personnel, as well as the witness who promptly sought help.
The suspect has been turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) of Taguig City Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges at the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.
