In an interview with Taguig.com, Capt. Melvin Garcia, spokesperson for Taguig City Police, suggested that the suitcase could have been washed up last night, July 23, 2026, during heavy rain. It is suspected to have originated from Manila Bay and was trapped in the creek of Barangay Tanyag, Taguig.
"The outlet there is Manila Bay, the current of the water was strong last night due to the typhoon, and then the large suitcase got trapped in the Tanyag creek. Therefore, the crime did not occur in Taguig," Garcia stated.
Based on the investigation by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), the woman's remains were intact and in a state of decomposition, suggesting that she had been dead for two or three days.

The suitcase was pulled out by a member of the Taguig Flood Control in Barangay Tanyag after it had blocked their creek.
Police investigators are now working to identify the woman.
If anyone witnessed the disposal of said suitcase, or has any information related to this, they are urged to immediately get in touch with the Taguig City Police or SOCO.
