A woman, long under the watchful eye of authorities for suspected drug-related activities, was recently arrested in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City.

During an operation carried out by the Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit, the woman known as Melinda, 37, and her two associates, alias Hawadi, a 49-year-old tricycle driver, and alias Zanora, 26, were apprehended.

The three suspects were found in possession of 50 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine).

Participating in the buy-bust operation were the DID-SPD, DSOU-SPD, DMFB-SPD, PDEA-SDO, and Police Sub-station 2 of Taguig City.

The suspects will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

"We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding our community and will continue to pursue those who seek to profit from the suffering of others. This successful operation sends a clear message: we will not relent in our efforts to uphold the law and ensure the safety of our people," stated Police Brig. General Mark Pespes, Director of the Southern Police District.
